A sale begins a trail.
A processor reports sales. Your bank reports deposits. Between those two records may be fees, timing differences, reserves, chargebacks or payments that arrive by another route. Looking at only one side can leave an incomplete picture.
DoLedger reads processor statements, analyzes fees and checks deposits against sales. The goal is to bring the related records together so a difference can be investigated rather than guessed at.
A difference needs an explanation.
Consider an illustrative processor report showing $18,600 in sales and $17,360 in bank deposits. The $1,240 difference is a question, not proof that $1,240 is recoverable. First look at the supporting fees, settlement timing, reserves and other records.
Direct American Express payments are another part of that trail. A payment made directly may need to be followed separately from the processor’s ordinary settlements. Reserves and chargebacks also need their own context.
Organize the records for the next step.
When a claim is appropriate, DoLedger’s claim tools bring a packet together on your letterhead, with signing, sending and tracking. DoProcessing Pro is an add-on for pursuing card money owed to you.
A complete packet supports the investigation; it is not a promise that a claim will be accepted or paid. The useful habit is to follow each sale through to the records that explain what reached the bank.
