Replace a vague request with a list.
“Please send everything” leaves a lot for the recipient to interpret. Which account? Which month? Which report? Even a willing business owner may not know what is missing from the books.
DoLedger’s “What we need” list is designed for the unfinished part of that hand-off: statements, reports and questions for the accountant. It gives the request a place beside the work it affects.
Keep the upload step simple.
A private upload link lets the person providing records send them without creating a login. That can remove an extra step when an owner or bookkeeper needs to supply a specific document.
The link is private access, so it should go only to the intended recipient. Use clear requests and review what was actually provided, rather than assuming an uploaded file answers every outstanding question.
Work from the same detail.
Once the source records are together, owners, bookkeepers and accountants can work through people and permissions. Reports, reconciliation, journal entries and the accountant pack support the work inside the books.
The advantage is a more concrete conversation: this account, this month, this missing record. It is easier to resolve a specific question than to keep chasing a general one.
